Forest Wedding Inspiration at Langdon Hall, Canada

Forest fairy vibes is an aesthetic that we love here at Meg Lizabet Jewelry and so it was an honour to be part of this amazing photoshoot with an even more amazing team! When our fabulous friend and colleague, Lisa Vigliotta Photography approached us with her vision for this shoot back in May - forest like, elegant and whimsical with touches of gilded gold… WE WERE IN! Even Meg herself couldn't resist making a special appearance on the day too!

Together with Tiziana of Forever Events and the amazing creative team of Photographer, Wedding Planner and Florist (Genevieve of The Dulce Dwelling and Lisa of Lisa Vigliotta Photography) 27 of Canada’s best wedding and bridal vendors came together to bring you the moodiest, most romantic, forest wedding you could ever dream of. The Inspiration and Venue

A lover of architecture and history, the Photographer and Creative Director, Lisa Vigliotta Photography was firstly inspired by the stately grandeur of Langdon Hall, wanting to tell a love story on its storied grounds. Surrounded by old forest, sitting up top a hill over the Grand River and the beautiful town of Cambridge, it is one of the most romantic venues in Canada to get married at and just 1.5 hours drive away from downtown Toronto.

Built in 1902, in American Federal Revival style, in the dawn of the Gilded Age, Langdon Hall encapsulates that romantic Edwardian golden age of long summer afternoons spent playing crochet, strolling the grounds under parasols and effortlessly elegant garden parties. Today, Langdon Hall stands as one of the greatest hotels in the world.

The Beauty - soft romantic make-up and luscious waves

The details on this shoot blew us away…

romantic burgundy hues, rustic foliage mixed with vintage gold details and velvet textures....

The Dress

This shoot featured two gorgeous gowns each with it’s own aesthetic- soft and old world glamorous, and black-tie-esqe avant-garde cutting edge fashion.

Dress one was provided by The Loved One, a Toronto icon for bridal accessories and their inaugural capsule collection of wedding gowns, provided the Keiko gown and Keiko Jacket. Together, they created a stunningly contrasting look and the handmade pearl Crown and veil added the perfect regal forest touch. We love how The Loved One’s accessories and garments are all designed and made sustainably by hand in Toronto.

The second ballgown wedding gown, with its bows and ribbon laced corset is from Rent the Couture’s RTC Label. This stunning gown added a classic softness, elegance and old world glamour that suited the heritage Langdon Hall Venue perfectly. The perfect pairing to this stunning gown is the handmade Désirée Choker by The Loved One with its luxe, lustrous baroque pearls - the Meg Lizabet team were completely in love.

OH HI MEG! Meg Lizabet herself was honored to join in the fun of this shoot and play the part of wedding guest! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

The Rings

When Meg heard the brief for this shoot, her heart immediately went to her hand engraved, nature inspired jewelry pieces. It was clear in her mind that our “Part-Sapphire twiggy ring” was a perfect candidate for the vision of this shoot. Organically handmade, playful and fun, the 14KT Twiggy Ring is perfect for everyday wear or as your romantic, fairytale engagement ring of dreams. The nature inspired branch setting is bold yet intricate and it features a round, rose cut parti Teal Montana Sapphire set in between the hand sculpted 'branches' of the ring. Made using Meg’s Lost Wax Casting technique, this one-of-a-kind ring was hand carved in wax, cast in 14K yellow gold, and then hand engraved with the bark-like texture.

In keeping with the second mood of the shoot, we also loaned our Green Sapphire Francisca, Florina Wedding band and our Odete Baguette Lab Diamond Leaf Band (pictured above), all bring their unique touches as classic and timeless engagement rings and wedding bands, with nods to art-deco and other vintage jewelry styles.

Our favourite details from the shoot:

Florals & Decor

Hand selected blossoms, sweet pea and other forest inspired flowers from Dulce Dwelling made the reception table and fireplace.

She covered and cascaded the reception table and fireplace arch with moss and ferns, and the naturalized ceremony arch with spring blossoms Tiziana of Forever Events envisioned the reception table scape of bare wood and brass antique candlesticks.

It's all about the Food & Drink...

No intimate wedding would be complete without delicious food and the cocktail caterer, Amazing Graze provided the ultimate grazing table, teared with multiple levels of overflowing food it encouraged guests to gather. A forest banquet fit for Kings and Queens.
