Shipping

All items over $500 are shipped using a fully insured courier service via Fedex. Items are padded and double boxed and require a signature upon delivery for insurance purposes. If you make any changes to your delivery, such as releasing the item without a signature, the insurance is void and you will not be issued a refund if the package is lost or stolen. If you are not home to receive the package it will be held at your closest Fedex distribution center. If the package is not picked up by the recipient it will be returned to Meg Lizabet and you will be refunded, less the cost of shipping. If the package is lost during delivery, at the fault of the courier service, you will be refunded for the item.

We are not responsible for any delays that may occur during shipping and urge you to track your package using the tracking ID provided prior to emailing our customer service. Refunds or discounts will not be issued because of delayed shipments. If you are concerned about the timely arrival of your package please contact us prior to making your purchase.

General Questions

Are all of your pieces one of a kind?

Most of our collection is individually handmade and one of a kind. Because of our unique process, one of a kind gemstones and the handmade nature of our work, there are slight differences in each piece and cannot guarantee an exact replica of every order. While we strive to maintain consistency in all of our designs, we encourage customers to embrace the organic quality of our jewellery rather than focus on perfection and precise uniformity.

Is the gold content the same in all of your rings?

All of our gold rings are made with solid 14 karat gold, unless otherwise stated. Each piece is stamped or engraved indicating the type of metal used. All of our pieces are cast in Toronto using a reputable vendor and the gold alloys are always consistent in content and colour. Some photos may look more vibrant than others, simply because of the photography or lighting.

How do I care for my new jewellery?

Whether it is fine jewellery or costume, precious gemstones or semi-precious, we recommend soaking your jewellery in warm water with dish soap and baking soda and gently scrubbing it with a soft toothbrush. We do not recommend over the counter chemical “dips” and cleaners as they may tarnish your jewellery further or affect your gemstones. Make sure to regularly check for loose gemstones and reach out to us if you suspect a stone has come loose. If you are ever unsure of how to take care of your new jewellery please contact us for advice.

How do I find my ring size?

Our best advice is to visit your local jeweller or jewellery retailer to have your finger professionally sized. Most jewellers will offer this as a free service. When possible, please specify whether your are purchasing a wide or narrow band as this sometimes affects the fit of the ring. Plastic ring sizers can be ordered from our website and shipped using regular mail. We are not responsible for jewellery ordered in the wrong size. If the style of ring is sizable we will make the adjustment at your cost.

What if I am buying a gift for someone and do not know their size?

We absolutely love surprises but unfortunately, cannot be held responsible for items ordered in the wrong size. We recommend purchasing a ring “as-is” and presenting your gift prior to requesting any alterations if you are unsure about sizing. We offer one complimentary sizing within 6 months of your purchase if the ring has not already been sized or altered.

Where are your stones sourced from?

Meg has spent the last decade of her career forming close relationships with a small handful of reputable suppliers around the world. Our suppliers align with our brand values and adhere to our high standard of ethics and sustainable practices. You can learn more about a few of our vendors on our “Meet the Team” page.

Customization

Can you customize your designs?

Yes! Depending on the style and scope of work we absolutely love creating custom jewellery for our clients. Please contact us directly at bespoke@meglizabet.com to start the process or visit our Bespoke page.

Will you recycle my own gold?

We do our best to recycle and repurpose heirloom jewellery whenever possible. Recycling gold is subject to location and is approved on a case by case basis. Recycling heirloom gold is a very delicate and sensitive process and we offer a complimentary consultation to go over these details. You can send in your request to bespoke@meglizabet.com

Can you incorporate my own stone into a piece of jewellery?

We love to use your own stones! Our mission is always to reduce the use of natural resources and recycle whenever possible however, due to the sensitive nature of our process not all stones can always be used. Please contact us directly if you are interested in revamping your old jewellery!

Shipping

How long does an item take to ship?

All of our ready-made items will dispatch within 2 to 3 business days. You can select your shipping preference during checkout. Certain items are limited to specific conditions. If you have a delivery concern or require a rushed delivery, please contact us prior to placing an order and we will do our best to accommodate you when possible. If a ring needs to be sized please allow an additional 2-3 days.

What happens if my package isn’t received?

All of our items are fully insured when shipped and for this reason a direct signature is required. If you give your courier manager permission to drop the shipment without a signature and the package is damaged, lost or undelivered, the insurance is void and we will not refund the item. In the event that the package was lost, at the fault of the courier, the item will be replaced at no cost to you.

Do you cover customs fees?

Unfortunately, no. It is your responsibility to understand and pay for your regions duties and taxes. It is important to note that depending on your border regulations, customs agents may contact you for your SSN number or Tax Registration number. This is common practice with Canada-USA shipments.

Warranty and Certificates

Do you offer a warranty?

We guarantee the structural integrity and craftsmanship of our jewellery however we do not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage or theft. Normal wear and tear would include but is not limited to: abrasions on the metal and/or gemstones, chips, fractures or softened facets of gemstones, distorted or misshaped metal due to stress or force, and broken or lifted prongs.

A defect in the craftsmanship of an engagement ring could include issues such as a misaligned setting, uneven prong placement, or visible soldering marks. These imperfections may affect the overall aesthetic and structural integrity of the ring. Our jewellery undergoes a rigorous quality control process with multiple steps to ensure exceptional craftsmanship before it is shipped. If you notice an issue upon receipt please photograph it to the best of your ability and email us right away.

Do you offer insurance?

No, you are responsible for insuring your own jewellery. It is important to add a Fine Jewellery block to your homeowners or personal insurance policy. Please reach out to your own private insurance company to register your items. We also recommend Jewelers Mutual if you prefer to keep your jewellery separate from your homeowners or tenant policy.

Do you offer any certificates?

We do offer an Appraisal with our jewellery, at your request, for an additional charge of $65. A complimentary appraisal is given with a jewellery purchase valued at $5000 or higher. A jewellery appraisal is given for insurance purposes and can be used in the event of damage, loss or theft. The appraisal is a professional assessment of the monetary value of the piece and outlines the materials used, their quality, weights, dimensions and replacement value according to current market conditions.

A certificate is provided by a gemmological lab or a gemstone supplier. A certificate provides a detailed analysis of the characteristics, quality of gemstones and sometimes origin. Some of our gemstones come with a manufacturers certificate, authenticating the gemstone and its origin however, not all gemstones are certified. Most diamonds are accompanied by a grading report or lab report. Investment, rare or high value gemstones are generally accompanied by a certificate to ensure the authenticity of the gem. If a gemstone you intend to purchase does not have a certificate and you wish to have your gemstone certified, it must be sent to a gemmological lab prior to being set in jewellery. The fee for this is at your cost and dependant on the value of the gemstone as we factor in the cost to ship and insure it.
